Are you happy with your life? Do you question how fulfilled you really feel? Is something missing? Do you want to make changes? Sometimes life can be overwhelming. Contrary to what many people think, we often need another, objective person to relate to, not to give advice, but to help question the ways in which we behave, relate and feel... this is where we might be able to help you.
Cornwall Psychotherapy is a collaboration of highly experienced therapists who work together to enable us to provide a broad range of treatment options to our clients. On this page you can read more about our therapists.
Elisabeth Tristram CPsychol
I qualified in 2002 as a Counselling Psychologist, and a CAT Practitioner. I am also now registered as a BPS Applied Supervisor and as a CAT Supervisor. I work both in the NHS and in Private Practice offering short and longer term therapy for individuals in a safe and confidential environment. I have many years experience working with adults, young people and children to overcome relationship difficulties which can so often lead to individuals experiencing for example, anxiety, depression and eating disorders. I work collaboratively with people in finding different ways of relating to themselves and others – ways that no longer foster the need for psychological distress

Sama Afsheen UKCP (accredited), Bsc (Hons), Msc
I have a degree in Psychology and a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology (1996), with its basis in systemic family therapy and Cognitive Behavioural therapy. I also have a Masters degree in Gestalt Psychotherapy and I am a UKCP accredited Gestalt Psychotherapist. I am also an EMDR practitioner. I am a member of the British Psychological society and of the Gestalt Psychotherapist Training Institute (GPTI). I am a member of the UK council for Psychotherapists and abide by their code of ethics. I have worked for over 17 years in Primary care mental health. I have considerable experience providing psychotherapy and counselling to individuals with enduring mental health difficulties. As a Gestalt therapist I help people to understand the ways they think, feel and act in different situations, through greater awareness of the moment by moment activity in the therapeutic setting. I attend to body processes and non-verbal communication. I value the relationship between client and therapist as key to healing. I believe strongly in the possibility of transformation and growth through relationship and deeper awareness. Gaining new insights can enable you to arrive at your own informed decisions and create new choices. I will provide a safe and respectful and empathic setting working creatively to support and gently challenge.
