Dynamic Interpersonal Therapy (DIT)
DIT is a 16 session evidence-based treatment which aims at relieving distress, helping you to better understand yourself and others and to function better in your relationships. DIT focuses on the common link between psychological distress and relationship problems. When a person is able to deal with repeated patterns in their relationships more effectively, his or her psychological symptoms often improve. Your therapist will help you find more appropriate ways of being and coping with difficult relationships in your life. Gestalt Psychotherapy is a holistic approach which aims to explore how we relate to the world. It's holistic nature includes valuing all aspects of the individual; psychological, emotional and spiritual. It emphasises the importance between the individual and the environment they are in and recognises how we influence and are influenced by our circumstances. It is a practical, creative and experimental approach to therapy.
Gestalt therapists explore how our past experience may be played out in the present. In this way we can look out for repeating patterns which are no longer useful and may be blocking satisfaction and fulfilment.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy works to uncover the unconscious feelings underlying psychological distress. The therapeutic relationship is central to this approach in which the therapist will work to help analyse your struggles, particularly in your relationships with others. This approach is suitable for people who wish to understand more about how their difficulties have come about and to work on deep seated issues. It is suitable for those who wish to talk about past as well as present difficulties in order to relieve their distress. For more information, please see the link below.
